United across the ocean

INTRODUCTION

Europe has signed CETA with Canada. To this very important trade agreement, Canada has added other important negotiations with the USA and Mexico for the “new NAFTA”, called CUSMA and signed on November 30, 2018. Positions taken in foreign policy by the Canadian government with a strong tendency towards multilateralism which is accompanied by a very profound commitment on issues such as mitigation of the effects of climate change and protection of human rights.

STRATEGIC COOPERATION

Collaboration with allied countries, starting with the G7 partners, represents a central aspect for the foreign policy of Europe and Canada, based on the coordination with partners is a necessary tool to achieve common goals.

COMMON OBJECTIVES

A very important component that unites the StarGate Project with European and Canadian foreign policy is represented by a not only commercial sharing policy that is very active and based on the diversification of the portfolio of international partners. This aspect assumes particular relevance and an important weight that Atlanticism returns to be central in relations between the various countries.
